Champion Children is a place for parents and children to read simple, meaningful stories together. Protecting your family's privacy matters to us, so we collect as little information as possible. This policy explains exactly what that is.

The short version

• We don't have accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
• We never ask for, or knowingly collect, personal information from children.
• We don't show ads, and we never sell or share personal information.
• We don't use tracking cookies.

Information we collect

Visit statistics. To understand which stories families enjoy, we use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service. It counts visits in aggregate, such as how many people viewed a page, which pages were viewed, the type of device and browser, the country of the visit, and the website that linked to us. Umami does not use cookies and is designed not to collect personal information or identify individual visitors. This analytics runs only on our website.

Website hosting. Our website is hosted by Vercel. Like all web hosts, Vercel may briefly process technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. We do not use this information to identify visitors.

Settings saved on your device. A few reading preferences, such as bedtime mode and whether you've seen the welcome animation, are saved in your own browser so the site remembers them. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.

If you email us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Children's privacy

Our stories are made to be shared by parents and children, and we take children's privacy seriously, in keeping with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, we will delete it. If you believe your child has shared personal information with us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Sharing information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above, which help us run the website, or when required by law.

Your choices

You can clear the settings saved on your device at any time by clearing your browser's site data. To ask about, or delete, anything you've sent us by email, contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the website.
