THE LITTLE WARRIOR

Pages 1–2

There once was a child who wanted to be a warrior.

⸻

Pages 3–4

Warriors were strong.

Warriors were brave.

And warriors were never, ever afraid.

Or so the child thought.

⸻

Pages 5–6

Then one night,

the wind began to howl.

WHOOOOOOO.

⸻

Pages 7–8

And from somewhere beyond the window came a sound…

BOOM.

The child pulled the blanket up.

BOOM.

A little higher.

BOOM.

All the way over their head.

⸻

Pages 9–10

“I am afraid,” whispered the child.

Then the child remembered the warrior on the wall.

Warriors weren’t afraid.

So perhaps…

the child wasn’t a warrior after all.

⸻

Pages 11–12

But then—

something strange happened.

The warrior stepped out of the picture.

⸻

Pages 13–14

“Are you afraid?” asked the child.

The warrior nodded.

“Sometimes.”

The child stared.

“But you’re a warrior.”

“I know.”

⸻

Pages 15–16

“I thought warriors weren’t afraid.”

The warrior smiled.

“Then what would courage be for?”

⸻

Pages 17–18

Suddenly, the child was standing at the bottom of the mountain.

The top was hidden above the clouds.

“I can’t climb that.”

“Maybe not,” said the warrior.

“But you can take one step.”

⸻

Pages 19–20

So the child took one step.

Then another.

And another.

Until—

ROOOOAR!

⸻

Pages 21–22

“I want to go back.”

The warrior said nothing.

The child looked behind.

Then ahead.

And took…

one more step.

⸻

Pages 23–24

Through the dark woods.

One more step.

Across the rushing river.

One more step.

Up the steepest rocks.

One more step.

⸻

Pages 25–26

At last, there was only one step left.

The child looked down.

The whole world seemed to be below.

The child’s knees shook.

“I am still afraid.”

⸻

Pages 27–28

And somewhere inside,

the child heard the warrior’s words.

So the child took…

one more step.

⸻

Pages 29–30

And there—

above the clouds,

beneath the rising sun—

stood a warrior.

No armor.

No shield.

No sword.

Just the child.

⸻

Pages 31–32

The child woke.

The storm was gone.

The warrior was back inside the picture.

But something was different.

The child smiled.

Because now the child knew:

Being brave doesn’t mean you are never afraid.

It means you take one more step.
