THE BOY WHO GAVE AWAY THE SUN

Pages 1–2

There once was a boy with a little bit of sunshine inside his heart.

⸻

Pages 3–4

He didn’t know why it was there.

He didn’t know where it came from.

He only knew that when he shared it…

someone else’s day became a little brighter.

⸻

Pages 5–6

So he began giving his sunshine away.

To the baker,

he gave a kind word.

To the old woman,

he carried her basket.

To the lonely boy,

he gave his time.

⸻

Pages 7–8

He fed a hungry bird.

He planted a tiny seed.

He picked up something that wasn’t his mess.

And when nobody was looking…

he did good things anyway.

⸻

Pages 9–10

One day, a man saw him.

“Why do you keep giving things away?”

he asked.

“What do you get back?”

The boy thought.

“Nothing.”

⸻

Pages 11–12

“Then why do it?”

The boy looked toward the sun.

“Does the sun ask the flowers to give back its light?”

⸻

Pages 13–14

“Does a tree ask the birds to pay for its shade?”

⸻

Pages 15–16

“Does a river ask who deserves its water?”

⸻

Pages 17–18

The man scratched his head.

“No.”

The boy smiled.

“Then why should love be any different?”

⸻

Pages 19–20

So the boy kept giving.

A smile here.

A helping hand there.

A little patience.

A little forgiveness.

A little love.

⸻

Pages 21–22

Some people said thank you.

Some people forgot.

Some didn’t even notice.

And that was okay.

⸻

Pages 23–24

Because love wasn’t something the boy traded.

It wasn’t something he kept score of.

Love was something he gave.

⸻

Pages 25–26

And something strange began happening.

The baker shared bread with someone who was hungry.

The old woman planted flowers for everyone to enjoy.

The lonely boy sat beside someone who was lonely.

⸻

Pages 27–28

The boy never asked them to.

In fact,

he never even knew.

⸻

Pages 29–30

One light became two.

Two became ten.

Ten became a hundred.

Until one night…

⸻

Pages 31–32

…the whole town seemed to glow.

⸻

Final Spread

The boy looked up at the stars.

He still had the same little sunshine inside his heart.

He had given it away a thousand times.

Yet somehow,

he had never lost it.

And perhaps that is the strange thing about love.

The more of it you give away, the more of it there is in the world.

So shine when nobody is watching.

Give when nobody can repay you.

Love without keeping score.

And wherever you go,

leave a little light behind.
